Sam grew up in the Wimmera region of Victoria, where his interest in agriculture first developed. This led to him working on a mixed grazing enterprise, located 15km north of Hamilton, once he had finished school.
Learning to integrate biodiversity and agroforestry with high-productivity grazing at Jigsaw Farms, not only developed his knowledge of agriculture but also established a passion for sustainable food and fibre production. Sam then went on to study a Bachelor of Agribusiness at La Trobe University, Melbourne. During his degree, Sam held roles in financial services and more recently worked with Dairy Australia as an Industry Analyst.
Outside of the office, Sam enjoys playing football, tennis and golf. While in the off-season he likes to get outdoors, going camping and fishing with his border-collie, Lenny. In the future he would like to invest in a grazing operation, expanding on his passion for sustainable livestock production.
